When we sit with and deeply connect with a goddess during a lunation, we begin to reclaim the deep connection we have with the moon and her cycles, developing a resonance with the energies available at each stage of lunation.
As the first slivers of the new moon appear, it is time for setting intentions for what we would like to create, develop, or manifest. It is a time of dreaming, new beginnings, optimism and hope.
The waxing moon is a time of increasing energy and activity. A time of learning and discovery. A time of strength and growth. During this part of the lunation we have energy to begin working towards our dreams and desires.
The full moon energy an energy of abundance, fullness, manifestation of desires. It is also a time of sexual fullness. It is the time of birthing our dreams and seeing our intentions set during the new moon come to fruition.
The waning moon is the time of letting go, clearing out, cleansing and shedding of the old. It is a time of reflection and making space for something new.
The dark moon is the time of deep peace. The time of going inward to reap the rewards of the work of the past month. A time to connect with your inner wisdom and take the final steps of transformation. Time to rest.
And the cycle begins anew.
As I began this lunation with the intention to connect with and understand the Goddess Kwan Yin, I set up an altar and sat in meditation every day. I began to feel her gift of compassion and her capacity for forgiveness. I experienced opportunities in my life to tap into my own compassion and to offer forgiveness. To practice.
The empowerment theme of our Goddess Circle during the full moon was Forgiveness. Could we tap into Kwan Yin’s unbounded capacity for forgiveness – for ourselves and for others in our lives? What and whom did we need to forgive? Why did we need to forgive? Could we step into the shoes of a person we needed to forgive? Could we experience Kwan Yin’s endless well of compassion? Could we forgive?
As we found Kwan Yin’s gifts within us, our hearts burst open and love freely flowed. We felt deep gratitude. We danced our gratefulness to embed the experience in our bodies. We bathed in this juicy love and connection with each other and with the Goddess within.
As I write this, it is the time of the waning moon. Time to reflect. Soon it will be time to clear away the altar and make room for the new lunation and a new Goddess. What did I learn? What am I taking forward into my life?
